I've had the pleasure/dis-pleasure (depending on which day you catch me) of living in Helsinki for the past 6 months and it's been quite a varied experience. Whilst I came here around August time when Summer was ending and the very brief Autumn was beginning, the majority of my stay has been literally covered in snow. I've never experienced a Winter that has lasted so long, and has consisted of so many feet of snow, everywhere, no matter where you turn.
Now the snow has almost entirely melted, I'm confronted with what seems like completely new surroundings. The usual Springtime happenings abound; squirrels jumping between trees, flower beginning to bloom... but I can also see places and activities outdoors that were either hidden or non-existent before.
So this is my pledge, on my newly created blog - go see more of Helsinki and the surrounding areas, and find some fun! All too soon Winter will return... but chances are that will be right around the time when I leave!
